The review process

From leave records to an actionable note

Two people reviewing notes at a table

1. Suitability check

You send a short outline through the enquiry form. We check whether the question fits an informational consultation and whether timing or complexity suggests going directly to a German-qualified lawyer. There is no charge for this check.

2. Confirm scope and appointment

We confirm the fixed fee, available times and the documents needed. Your slot is secured once the booking terms are accepted and payment is received. Remote consultations use a private video link; Hamburg meetings are by prior appointment only.

3. Prepare the record

Send up to 25 pages at least two working days before the call. Useful items include your holiday clause, policy, balance statements, relevant requests and evidence of a changed work pattern. Redact bank details, identification numbers and unrelated personal information.

4. Work through the calculation

The 75-minute call follows the leave year in chronological order. We test working-day assumptions, pro-rata treatment, leave taken, carry-over and communications about possible expiry.

5. Receive the written note

Within two working days, your note records the calculation basis, open facts and practical questions. It also states any limits to the review and referral suggested.

What happens next

Most clients use the note to request a breakdown or prepare for an HR discussion. Signal Workhub does not contact the employer. If the issue requires a formal claim or representation, the next action is to speak with a suitable lawyer, union or works council.
